چکیده

The aim of the present study was to evaluate effects three biostimulant products (Nomoren (N), Twin Antistress (TW), x-Stress (XS) and control treatment (C: no biostimulants added)) on nutritional value, chemical composition bioactive properties greenhouse tomato fruit grown under full (W+: 100% field capacity) deficit irrigation (W–: 70% conditions. Fat content highest for fully irrigated plants that received (CW+), while proteins carbohydrates energetic value were in XSW+ treatment. main detected sugars (fructose, glucose trehalose) varied depending amounts individual total organic acids tocopherols recorded treated with whereas lowest overall values observed XS most abundant fatty palmitic (27.5–36.0%) linoleic acid (27.4–35.4%), followed by oleic (9.2–21.2%), linolenic (5.4–13.1%) stearic (5.3–6.8%). Moreover, β-carotene lycopene CW- NW+ treatments, respectively. TWW+ showed antioxidant activity both assays tested (TBARS OxHLIA). Most extracts lower antibacterial against bacteria compared positive controls. On other hand, CW+, XSW- treatments higher antifungal (MIC values) than In conclusion, each product had a different effect determined characteristics level irrigation. Therefore, more research is needed better identify mechanisms action physiological processes, after which may be used standardize application such cultivation.

The Effect of Modified Atmosphere Packaging on the Shelf-life of Greenhouse-grown Tomato

In the present study, packaging of a greenhouse-grown tomato on the culture medium containing 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% compost tea under modified atmosphere: MA (88%N2 + 8%CO2 + 4%O2) in polyethylene and nanosilicon-polyethylene bags was studied at 5°C for 30 days. Several quality parameters such as moisture content, pH, total soluble solids (TSS), titratable acidity (TA), Vitamin C content, text...

Effects of acute ozone stress on reproductive traits of tomato, fruit yield and fruit composition.

BACKGROUND Tomato is sensitive to ozone. Fruit growth and composition are altered under ozone stress by modification of reproductive development. Fifty-one-day-old plants were exposed to three concentrations of ozone (200, 350 and 500 µg m(-3)) for 4 h. RESULTS Ozone reduced well-developed fruit number and fruit size, but it did not significantly affect flowering rate and fruit setting rate. ...

Effect of biostimulants on water content and micronutrients and macronutrients of Puccinellia distans under salinity stress

Abstract: Biostimulants are a variety of compounds of plant and animal origin that are used to improve the quality of plant growth. In this study, which was conducted in 1399, the effect of commercial biostimulant Algabon®, algal biostimulant [seaweed extract (SWE)], and namid (amino acid biostimulant) on the plant Puccinellia distans to reduce the effects of salinity stress by improving growt...

Alleviation of water stress effects on MR220 rice by application of periodical water stress and potassium fertilization.

The use of periodical water stress and potassium fertilization may enhance rice tolerance to drought stress and improve the crop's instantaneous water use efficiency without much yield reduction. This study was conducted to assess the effects of different periodical water stress combined with potassium fertilization regimes on growth, yield, leaf gas exchanges and biochemical changes in rice gr...

Effects of Calcium and Magnesium on Plant Growth, Biomass Partitioning, and Fruit Yield of Winter Greenhouse Tomato

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) ‘Trust’ was grown on rockwool with nutrient solutions containing two levels of calcium (150 and 300 mg·L–1) in factorial combination with three levels of magnesium (20, 50, and 80 mg·L–1) in Winters 1997 and 1998, to investigate the effects of calcium and magnesium on growth, biomass partitioning, and fruit production. Plants grown at 20 mg·L–1 Mg started t...
